Vietnam visa on arrival for land entry

Basically, Vietnam visa on arrival is a Vietnam visa that is stamped and picked up at the airport. This means that it can be obtained by only applicants who travel to Vietnam by air. It is impossible for you to apply for Vietnam visa on arrival if entering Vietnam by bus from Laos, Cambodia, Thailand or China. In this case, you are supposed to obtain a Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy/Consulate. Let's see what to prepare and how to get a Vietnam visa from embassy.

Required documents for a complete Vietnam visa application:

- An origin and valid passport
- An application form attached with a recent passport-sized photo
- Vietnam visa fee (in cash)

The processing time and visa fee vary from embassy to embassy. For detailed information, you have to contact directly with the visa section. However, believe that the process always requires more than 2 working days and the visa fee depends on length of your stay and type of your visa as well. At several Vietnam embassies, mail submission is acceptable. Therefore, if you can not apply in person, you can post your visa application accompanied with a prepaid return envelop to the embassy.

As soon as you collect the visa, check the visa carefully and immediately report the embassy if you find any error on it.
